A discussion developed earlier on Twitter regarding my provision in an earlier post that Rangers are still Rangers in almost every shape and form.
First of all, I would thank everyone that reads my blog. At the end of the day, these are nothing but my own musings and although I will often diverge into other avenues of interest one thing that I continue to return to is the debate surrounding Rangers. People will not always agree on football; indeed it would be a very dull and boring sport if someone were to remove the subjectivity from it.

So where do Rangers really stand, where does league reconstruction take us and where is Scottish Football really going?
It has been a long time since I have written anything on this page. At present, I am far too busy to write anything other than my own research – something that sadly falls out with the walls of Scottish Football. However, as my concentration has completely gone I felt I may as well talk about some recent developments in Scottish Football.
First of all, let us address Hearts and their situation as this is clearly the biggest story in Scottish Football at present. Sadly it does not look good for Hearts at this present time. The club may owe a debt to HMRC that could see them facing imminent administration but for me, that is nothing short of the tip on a very large iceberg. The club owe sums of money in the region of £30 million to Romanov’s parent company. To be rather blunt, that is the debt that Hearts fans should be more worried about.

I have, probably stupidly, been reading some twitter comments this morning on the Rangers liquidation. Plenty comments out there so lets just pick a few:

Another week, another failure?, another bad decision and another ‘Tweet’.
I do not usually make much remark on Celtic. I do not support the team and therefore it is not really my place to comment on their affairs. Nothing Celtic or Neil Lennon do has any outcome on me; but after quite some time I feel it is time to have a small snigger and a friendly jibe.

It would appear that in recent days there has been some form of explosion on twitter and fans sites regarding the new blog aptly named ‘Celtic Tax Case’.
I will admit, i first of all fell into the trap of thinking that this website was going to entail a serious attempt to look at financial issues at Celtic (such as the well known attendance figures scam that it is safe to say has been used by many a football club over the years).
My first reaction was, “Oh no! I hope this isn’t some desperate fan that is going to make an arse of themselves” followed by, ” but let’s see what they come up with anyway”.
All of those thought were indeed before the first blog was actually published.
Now, having had an opportunity to read the blog i feel the need to commend the author on what is a brilliant parody, bringing some light relief to what has thus far been a tedious journey of legal puke on our doorsteps every day.
My own thoughts have been recently that the Rangers ‘Tax case’ and administration situation has been a bit like watching formula 1 on the T.V. An explosive start followed by lap after lap of boring pish. You would be as well turning it off and tuning back in for the final few laps again when things might get moderately exciting.
So well done to that person. My own thoughts is that it is most likely a Celtic fan trolling but I really couldn’t care less. The fact is simple: it’s a funny website.

The question may be hypothetical but the opinions are plenty.
In the wake of Glasgow Rangers rather forced entry into voluntary administration many over eager fans from all other SPL teams seem determined to throw in their tuppance worth in view of life without the Glasgow team.
One school of thought is that the SPL would be doomed without Rangers, their supporter revenue and importance to any future if not current T.V. deals.
Another is that the SPL would prosper – if not in the same capacity it could thrive. (more…)

As the door firmly closes on the
January transfer window, the creaking sound of the Ibrox Trophy Cabinet can be heard, as it inevitably swings open in preparation for it’s incarnation in green and white ribbons.
Of course i understand the pleas of, ” Don’t give up now, Shellick havny beaten us in the last three seasons”. This is true, they have not – but
Rangers have never been as weak in the last three seasons. If Celtic were to fail to win the league now i think it would really be time to ask questions.

It would appear, judging by the furore on certain other websites and blogs that the Rangers Tax Case has resumed. I think anyone with half a brain these days realises that the tribunal is far more about ‘how liable’ Rangers are as opposed to ‘If they are liable’.
Naturally there are still some fantasists out there that have decided to disregard all the available information and are hedging their hopes on some miracle, American County Court style acquittal type result. But such is life.
