In between all of the rubbish linking Rangers with just about any ex-SPL player it has become rather alarming to me the length of time an agreement is taking between Charles Green and the SFA to transfer any license. What strikes me more is that the stalling point appears to be over the SPL stripping Rangers of any titles won whilst duel contracts were in play.
Another month and STILL this saga looks no closer to an end point.
I predicted that there would be no form of Rangers in any league for next season; i am becoming more and more sure that this will now be the case.
Rangers Newco
We refer to the above and take this opportunity to make a statement on behalf of the club. Firstly we appreciate that there have been numerous calls for us to produce such a statement specifically outlining our voting intentions with regard to Rangers Newco entering the SFL. We have been of the opinion that we did not wish to issue a statement when a) we had no actual proposal and therefore no decision to make, and b) more importantly, until we were in full receipt of all the facts. The Club has received a set of papers in advance of the SFL meeting on Tuesday. The essential intent behind those papers is to induce the SFL clubs to agree a proposal to allow a Newco to enter the SFL in the First Division in exchange for a range of structural changes to the current set up and some small financial inducements. Some of the proposed changes have merit in principle.
